First Reconciliation and First Communion are taught in 2nd grade
TRADITION: The child must attend, at least, one year of Catholic faith formation classes/programming immediately prior to his/her sacramental year.
FOR EXAMPLE: Upcoming 2nd graders should have attended 1st grade the prior year.
EXPECTATION: Child should have, at least, the following prayers memorized prior to First Reconciliation: Sign of the Cross (properly), Glory Be, Hail Mary, & Our Father/Lord's Prayer. Your child will be taught an Act of Contrition in 2nd grade.
IMPORTANT 2020 FIRST RECONCILIATION & FIRST EUCHARIST DATES for 2nd GRADERS
Saturday, February 8: First Reconciliation Service 10 a.m., Potluck following, and First Eucharist Retreat beginning after the Potluck until 4 p.m. At least 1 parent must accompany each child during the Reconciliation Service from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m..
Friday, March 20 @ 6:30 p.m.: First Eucharist Rehearsal
Sunday, March 22 @ 2:30 p.m.: First Eucharist Mass
Thursday, April 9 @ 7 p.m.: Holy Thursday Mass Participation
Baptism Certificate copies are required for each Sacrament and should accommodate the Registration Form along with the fee at the time of submission.
