First Sacraments

First Reconciliation and First Communion are taught in 2nd grade

TRADITION: The child must attend, at least, one year of Catholic faith formation classes/programming immediately prior to his/her sacramental year.

FOR EXAMPLE: Upcoming 2nd graders should have attended 1st grade the prior year.

EXPECTATION: Child should have, at least, the following prayers memorized prior to First Reconciliation: Sign of the Cross (properly), Glory Be, Hail Mary, & Our Father/Lord's Prayer. Your child will be taught an Act of Contrition in 2nd grade.

A copy of the child’s baptism certificate must be submitted to the office in order to proceed with sacraments.

  

Proper Attire for First Communion:

Girls: White dress with dress shoes. A veil and gloves are optional

Boys: Dark blue or black pants with a white oxford shirt and tie, dark shoes. A dark colored suit is acceptable as well.


Proper Attire for First Confession:

Girls: Dress, dress pants, sweater, nice blouse, dress shoes

Boys: Dress pants, nice shirt or sweater, dress shoes


Sacraments

Baptism Certificate copies are required for each Sacrament.
